They each depict the famous Dutch / Flemish Grand Master artists Rubens and Van Dyck
Great patina to the bronze and the casting is incredibly detailed
One of the figurines is holding a book whilst the other holds a folio
Good size at just under two feet tall
They are by the artist / sculpturist Jean Jules Salmson  (1823 – 1902) who was famous for his classical statues
